The China M&A Awards recognise the Financial and Legal advisors’ excellence in M&A advisory of Chinese-related deals and are based on the Mergermarket league tables with input from an independent judging panel of seven industry experts and two professionals from Mergermarket.

Of the China M&A Financial advisor nominations, Mergermarket named Huatai Securities as the Mid-Market M&A Financial Adviser of the Year while Morgan Stanley was awarded the International M&A Financial Adviser of the Year. Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the Outbound M&A Financial Adviser of the Year and Energy Mining & Utilities M&A Financial Adviser of the Year. China International Capital Corporation won the Domestic M&A Financial Advisor of the Year and the M&A Financial Adviser of the Year in both Consumer and Financial Services sectors. CITIC Securities and China Renaissance Group were named the M&A Financial Adviser of the Year in respective sectors of Industrial & Chemicals and Technology, Media and Telecom.
Of the legal advisor nominations, King & Wood Mallesons was awarded both the M&A Legal Adviser of the Year and the Mid-Market M&A Legal Adviser of the Year. Linklaters won the Outbound M&A Legal Adviser of the Year and Energy Mining & Utilities M&A Legal Adviser of the Year. Haiwen & Partners, Clifford Chance, AllBright Law Offices and Fangda Partners were named the M&A Legal Adviser of the Year in respective sectors of Consumer, Financial Services, Industrial & Chemicals and Technology, Media & Telecom.
For private equity sector, the Private Equity Deal of the Year was awarded to Axilone Group (CITIC Capital). Ele.me (Alibaba) was named M&A Deal of the Year.
