Shanghai, 18 October 2019 – Mergermarket, the world’s leading news and intelligence service for mergers & acquisitions, announced the winners of its China M&A awards 2019 at a black-tie gala dinner on the evening of the 17th October at Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai.
The China M&A Awards recognise the Financial and Legal advisers’ excellence in M&A advisory of Chinese-related deals and are based on the Mergermarket league tables with input from an independent judging panel of six industry experts and two professionals from Acuris.
Of the China M&A Financial adviser nominations, Mergermarket named China International Capital Corporation as the M&A Financial Adviser of the Year and Mid-Market M&A Financial Adviser of the Year. It was also the Pharmaceuticals, Medical and Biotech M&A Financial Adviser of the Year. UBS Investment Bank was awarded the Cross Border M&A Financial Adviser of the Year and Energy Mining & Utilities M&A Financial Adviser of the Year. CITIC Securities won the M&A Financial Adviser of the Year in both Consumer and Industrials & Chemicals sectors. China Renaissance was named Technology, Media & Telecom M&A Financial Adviser of the Year.
Of the legal adviser nominations, King & Wood Mallesons was awarded the M&A Legal Adviser of the Year and Industrials & Chemicals M&A Legal Adviser of the Year, while Zhong Lun Law Firm was the Mid-Market M&A Legal Adviser of the Year. White & Case won the Cross Border M&A Legal Adviser of the Year. Fangda Partners was named Legal Adviser of the Year in both Consumer and Pharmaceuticals, Medical and Biotech sectors. Grandall Law Firm and Han Kun Law Offices were the M&A Legal Adviser of the Year in respective sectors of Energy Mining & Utilities and Technology, Media & Telecom.
For private equity sector, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison won the Private Equity Legal Adviser of the Year. CITIC Capital were awarded the Private Equity Deal of the Year for their acquisition of Hangzhou UCO Cosmetics.
